Basketball stands make the perfect gift for any active child. In fact, even grown-ups can benefit from getting up and about and shooting a few hoops every now and again.
The game of basketball is one of the most widely viewed sports in the world and has been gaining in popularity ever since its inception in December of 1891. Today’s basketball hoop stands look a lot different than they used to. The game was designed by Dr James Naismith who was teaching physical education at McGill University of Montréal at the time. He was looking for an energetic indoor game to keep his students fit throughout the long New England winters.
